Comprehensive Car Wash Promotion on Instagram

We took on the task of promoting a self-service car wash on Instagram with the goal of increasing customer flow and enhancing brand recognition. The main objectives we set for ourselves:

This project became a great example of how a well-planned Instagram promotion strategy can not only attract new customers but also bring back old ones, increasing brand loyalty.
What did we use to promote the car wash?

Meta Ads Advertising
We launched targeted ad campaigns through Meta Ads to reach both cold and warm audiences. This helped attract new customers and remind those who were already aware of the service. -
Message Campaigns
To automate interaction with followers, we set up message campaigns. This allowed us to quickly respond to inquiries, remind users about promotions, and increase audience engagement. -
Partnerships with Organizations
We proposed collaborations with companies in related industries (e.g., auto repair shops, tire services, auto parts stores). This helped expand the audience and attract new customers through mutually beneficial promotions. -
Creating and Publishing Posts
We developed a content strategy that included regular post publishing. These were not only promotional materials but also useful content: car care tips, information about the benefits of self-service, and customer reviews. -
Promotional Campaigns
To boost interest in the car wash services, we designed and launched several promotional campaigns. Discounts, bonuses, and special offers became great incentives for new and returning customers.
Self-Service Car Wash Promotion Strategy on Instagram
The primary target audience for the promotion was identified as men and women aged 20 to 40. Self-service car wash services are in demand among both car owners and those who value convenience and accessibility. With this in mind, we divided ad campaigns based on audience interests and behavioral traits.
Since the client already had a well-established online presence, we decided to focus on Instagram promotion. This choice was made due to the high engagement of the audience with visual content and the ability to effectively work with targeted ads. On Instagram, we used bright images and short videos to highlight the advantages of the car wash: affordability, ease of use, and time-saving.
We also emphasized local targeting to reach audiences within a 5-10 km radius of the car wash. This allowed us to attract users who were highly likely to become customers.
It is worth noting that the client showed a high level of involvement in the promotion process. Following our recommendations, a professional photo shoot and video filming were organized at the self-service car wash. This allowed us to create unique and high-quality content, which became the foundation for future advertising materials.
We prepared a series of bright graphic banners and short videos that highlighted the key advantages of the car wash: modern equipment, ease of use, and affordable prices. This approach helped not only attract the attention of the target audience but also build trust in the brand.
The client also actively participated in developing content ideas, making the advertising materials as lively and audience-focused as possible.

Most of the work was focused on promoting to interest-based audiences. We carefully analyzed and tested various segments to find the most suitable target audience.
The main focus was on users who own cars, as they are the ones most likely to be interested in self-service car wash services. We also tested audiences interested in car accessories and car care. This allowed us to reach people who are already actively interested in cars and, therefore, more likely to use the service.
Additionally, we set up targeting for users working near the car wash location. At the same time, we excluded nearby residents, as their behavior showed less interest in the services. This approach allowed us to fine-tune ad campaigns and attract those most likely to become customers.

Interaction with Car Wash Customers
During the process, we noticed that customers who used the car wash services rarely returned for repeat visits. To identify the reason, we conducted an analysis and highlighted several key points.
From the car wash owner’s side:

There was no interaction with customers after the service was provided. No reminders, reviews, or offers to return were made.

Regular promotions and discounts were not conducted, which could have motivated customers to return.

Posting on social media was irregular, reducing the car wash’s visibility and making it harder to remind the audience of its existence.

Limited operating hours (early closing) made the service inaccessible to some customers, especially those who preferred evening hours.
From the advertising strategy side:

Ad materials lacked clear calls to action, which reduced conversion rates.

There were not enough experiments with content formats, targeting, and creatives during the promotion process.

The bonus system for customers was underdeveloped, making it difficult to retain the audience and encourage repeat visits.
To address these issues, we proposed a comprehensive approach that included:
